SEO is a term most web designer’s know, but for the small business person like me it’s a conundrum of rules and regs dictated by Google and some by Yahoo that seems overwhelming to understand. I asked my webmaster, Barbara Weibel, at Holeinthedonut.com what is all means and she explained the Blog is the number one driver and getting incoming links into your site is KEY to high page rankings by Google. The demi GOD of the internet.
With a little searching, I final found an article that explains some of this techno garble to this right brained interior designer in a language I can understand. I thought it might be beneficial to share this with anyone that might stumble across my BLOG. Hopefully, other designers will find this and want to link into my page. Here is another article I found, (wow! there are so many when you start looking) of the 100 best SEO blogsthat I hope will help you to learn a little more of this mysterious world of the internet traffic flow and how to get it to your website.
By the way SEO stands for SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Hello!
I know exactly what you mean about this SEO business! It took me months to figure out why my website wasn’t even showing up on Google. Once I taught myself not only what it means but how to do it, my site at http://newbie-news.net went from bottom of the sixth page to fifth on the first page. Unfortunately, you still have to enter ‘newbie news’ in the search bar, but hey, it’s a start! Thanks for the tip Patricia, I will check out your SEO link, because I need still more information about it, as interestingly, I am now (believe it or not) designing websites for small businesses in my area. WOW, now there’s a job I never thought I’d ever do!!!
We should refer to each others articles to build links. When you post, hyper link to mine and I will go to yours and hyper link to yours with in a post. Thanks for the comment. Patricia
You know what, I think that’s a great idea! I’m not sure how to go about it. Any suggestions?
I think I can copy this article you wrote above and then hyperlink to this site?
Or write my own post discussing this article and then hyperlink your page?
Sorry, I’m relatively new at the backlinking stuff, so my learning curve is really steep! Kathleen
well, nice post, I love the heading and would use it for my post, feel free to visit my blog
Hi Kathleen,
Been at the ocean and wasn’t able to get to my mail. I think that we hyperlink back within an article you write and I hyperlink back to your article. This atleast will begin some good SEO. If I understand correctly, the Google robots, search for links that link to links. This means they are active rather than on a website which is passive. So, if would point to my article or website in one of your posts, I will do same. Thanks so much and please keep me informed as you find out more information, Patricia
Please point to the article of your choice. Let me know which one you would want me to point to.
Since I am building links/relationships if you do use my heading, maybe you could point to my post with a hyperlink as I am beginning to build recipriocating links and finding it slow going. I will do same for you. Thank you. Patricia
Well said on all points!
Thanks Peg, appreciate the nice comments.
Thank you for the mention, Patricia Scott
